I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. House's passing. I used to live up the street from Mr. House in Blue Springs in the mid 70's and I babysat his kids. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.

We first became acquanited with Bill when he was still a salesman for Sutherland Lumber on 40 Highway in Independence. He came after working all day to build a recreation room in our basement in Blue Springs. You could see by his craftmanship that he would go on to bigger and greater achievements. He was truly an optimist with a smile on his face.
May God's grace substain his family during this difficult time.

It was indeed an honor to have known Bill for the past 30 years. We first met in the early 1970's when Bill was a salesman at Sutherland Lumber Company. In our initial conversation I was very impressed as Bill expressed his interest and ideas in developing and house framing. Eventually that conversation led to our partnership in Friendship Builders and then Bill's pursuits led him to the Blue Springs area. Bill was respected and admired by all for his honesty and always a man of his word. Out of something small Bill's creative mind could create something bigger and better. Bill House will always be remembered as a genuine friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Our deepest and sincere sympathy is extended to the entire family.

I was truly saddened when I heard from a mutual friend of Bill's untimely death. I first met Bill and his family in 1984 when he built our home in Deer Run. Kindness, honesty, integrity and humility come to mind as a few of his many outstanding characteristics. Whenever I would see him during his construction of my company's new headquarters building or would bump into him at EKC airport, Bill always had a smile and warm greeting. He was one who left his mark as having made the earth a better place and when all is said and done, what more can we hope to accomplish? May the love of God, which passes all understanding, grant his family peace and solace in this most difficult time.

Our condolence goes out to all the family of Bill's. One thing I admired most about Bill is that it didn't matter who you was he would always speak to you. The last time we seen him he made it a point to come up to us and say "hi" even though he knew his time was limited. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Everyone seems to be using the same words to describe Bill-- honorable, respectable, man of integrity, gentleman--and he certainly was all those things. My husband, John Long, has known him for some years now in a work capacity, but Bill always seemed able to relate to everyone on a close personal level. Our sympathies to Barb and the rest of the family, as well as to the community who will miss him very much.
