William Wonder Obituary

William F. "Bill" Wonder 83 of Gladstone, MO. passed away August 4, 2008. Services will be Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Fairview Christian Church 1800 N.E. 65th St, Gladstone, MO. Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be 9:30 a.m. on Friday in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park. Bill was born in Kansas City, MO. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps. Before his retirement Bill had worked for Superior Supply, Amana Heating & Air Conditioning and Asha Heating and Cooling. In later years he served a crossing guard for Meadowbrook Elementary School which he truly enjoyed. Bill was a member of American Legion and a member of Fairview Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a son Wm. F. Wonder, Jr. Among his survivors is his wife of 60 years, Iris Wonder, son, Danny B. Wonder, 2 daughters; Alexis Preston and Vanessa Smith and 6 grandchildren; Bill, Jon, Lindsey, Kari, Dana and B.J. (Mt. Washington Forever Funeral Home)

Will always remember Bill as the crossing guard at Meadowbrook, reminding me of how tough a veteran he was, and the gentle smile and firm handshake that always greeted you at church every Sunday. What a great man.
