ZACHARY KELLEY Obituary

Zachary "Zack" Dalton Kelley, 11, of Atchison, Kan., passed away Monday, February 4, 2013, at KU Medical Center where he then traveled to Heaven. He was born Dec. 1, 2001, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Kristina (West) and James "Jimmy" Kelley, Jr. He was in Mr. Piper's 5th grade class at Atchison Elementary School. He enjoyed Boy Scouts with his brother and aspired to be in the tribe of Mic-O-Say. He also enjoyed building with legos, playing soccer and flag football, video games, fishing and camping. He was the center of attention in any room with his humor or magic tricks and cute little smirk. As we traveled as a family he always said he wanted to travel the world. So as in death he will continue to travel everywhere in the USA because he became a Hero to his brother and sister as he was an organ donor. We know Zack saved many lives and families. Wacky Zacky, Z-Man or Little Z, and any other nick names we know him as, we will also know him by his humor and big heart. As Zack is now and angel watching over us and giving us his strength and fight to stay strong. Zachary was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, James C Kelley Sr., paternal great grandfather, Lawrence Christy and maternal great grandparents, WM Herman and Lucile Charlene (Hunter) Sisk and Dale and Virginia (West) Johnson, maternal great uncle, Larry Sisk. Survivors include his mom and dad, Kristina Marie (West) and James "Jimmy" Clarence Kelley Jr., brother, James Clarence Kelley III, sister, Haley Elizabeth Kelley, all of the home; maternal grandmother, Barbara (Sisk) West of Easton, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Deborah J. (Kelley) Weyer of DeKalb, Mo.; paternal great grandmother, Agnes Christy of St. Joseph; also "great" aunt, Janet and uncle, Rick Roberts, great aunt, Carolyn and Sam Nuckolls, great aunt, Linda Bettick, great uncle, Jerry Sisk, uncle, Nate and aunt, Andrea West, uncle, Cody West, uncle, Larry Christy, uncle, Jason Kelley and many cousins and other extended family. Along with many teachers, classmates, coaches, and fellow Scouts. Zack had many others that played a special role in his life so he will also be missed by "grandma" Pam Smith, "aunt" Danielle Sisk, "uncle" Reggie and "aunt" Erika Roberts "aunt" Michelle Roberts, "uncle" Rob Shumake, "aunt" Rachael Jackman, "uncle" Noah and "aunt" Aaron Mays, "uncle" Joey and "aunt" Shannon Cummings, "aunt" Anna Johnson and "nurse" Bessie McGaughey. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Beau Walker officiating and then a dinner following services at the Elwood, Kan., Community Center. The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Rupp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers because of his Asthma the family is requesting memorials to the Zachary D.
