Alvin Schuman Obituary
He was born May 27, 1927, in Elgin, the son of William and Alvina (Lange) Schuman.
Al served in the U.S. Army as a 612th Quartermaster. He was employed by Burgess Norton in Geneva for 42 years. Al was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Geneva. He served 24 years as a volunteer fireman for the Geneva Fire Department and 23 years as a Boy Scout troop leader for Troop 53 in Geneva. Some of Alís fondest memories include camping and fishing.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years Rose (Bradley); his sons Steve (Karen) of Coeur díAlene, Idaho, Dennis of Elburn, and Tom (Dee) of Batavia; his grandchildren Matt (Kristie), Eleanor and Marion Schuman; his great-grandchildren Hunter Funk, Riley, Matthew, Taylor and Cody Schuman; and his nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, Al was preceded in death by his brother Richard.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Geneva, 2300 South St., Geneva, Illinois 60134.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
Burial will be held at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Geneva.

To the Schuman family you have our sympathy for you loss, Al was a good friend and hard working firefighter back in the days when we were young and willing to help anyone who needed help. We are sure you will miss him. As fire chief I could always depend on Al to be there and help.
