Jean Theissing Obituary

ST. CHARLES - Jean B. Theissing, 78, of St. Charles, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

He was born April 17, 1931, in Elgin, to Bernhardt and Rosa Theissing, and spent his formative years in Dundee.

Mr. Theissing served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a Korean War veteran. Since 1986, he was owner and operator of the DeKalb Currency Exchange.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Mae; four children, Brett J. of Gurnee, Corinn L. (Lee) Hibert of Bull Valley, Eric P. (Mary) of Cortland and Marcus of St. Charles; seven grandchildren, Marissa Frey, Nicole Theissing, Jeffrey Theissing, Eric Theissing, Jr., Tristan Theissing, Amber Theissing and Heather Theissing; a great-grandson, James Ethan Frey; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Stanley.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 28), Geneva. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, until the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be private at West Dundee Cemetery, West Dundee.
