Joseph T Simosky

Simosky, Joseph T age 77, of Maple Park Il, Formerly of Batavia and West Chicago, Il. passed away into the arms of his Savior in the early morning of Friday, July 11, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on December 4, 1947, to loving parents Joseph and Marjorie Simosky. Both of whom preceded him in death.
Joseph was raised in West Chicago and joined the Army after high school. Upon returning from the army and college, he met the love of his life and soulmate Barbara (Kouba) and they were united in Holy Matrimony at St. Mary's Church in West Chicago in 1972. She preceded him in death in 2022.
Joseph worked many years as a truck driver and then in construction as a siding installer. He began his own company, American Heritage Siding, in 1978. He continued operating his business until the summer of 2024, when he retired and closed it.
Joseph loved flying planes as well as working on them, and had a very close group of friends in the Fox Valley Flying Club. He enjoyed events and flying trips in his ultra lite planes and he served on their Board.
Joseph also found strength and support in a twelve-step program where he recently celebrated 40 years of sobriety and supported and mentored many others in their recovery journey.
Joseph was a kind man and gave all he had for those he cared for. He lived a life of blessing other people whenever he was able.
He is survived by his two children, Dawn Smith (Brian), Joey (Missy) Simosky, two grandchildren, YaQuan (Julia) Stewart, Joriaune Stewart, three great grandchildren, Kage, Avonté and Ezlynn Stewart, four sisters, Sherry (Alan) Gasteier, Gloria Simosky, Susan (Ken) Godbold, Marjorie Armstrong, one brother James (Christine) Simosky, sisters in law Sandra (David) Goodyear and Donna (Daniel) Griffiths, a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews, and very special extended family Steve (Jennifer) VanDeventer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2025, at the Maple Park American Legion from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
