Roger Needham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel on Feb. 16, 2026.
Roger D. Needham, lovingly known as "Rocket" age 68, of St. Charles, passed away peacefully at Delnor Hospital surrounded by his loving family on February 10, 2026. He was born April 7, 1957 in Maple Park, IL. He was blessed with his son, Dustin, while living in Maple Park. Roger loved Maple Park for many years of his life and in time he moved to St. Charles where he spent the rest of his life for the last 32 years. He met his second wife Terry in 2000 and within 2 years they were united in marriage that included his son, Dustin and Terry's 2 sons, Corey and Cale Marshall. They made it a new family for all of them. Roger was married to Terry for almost 24 years which would have been in April 2026.

Roger was a very hard worker to make sure his family was provided for until his body could not do it anymore in 2022, when he had no choice but to retire from Advance Lifts after 33 years of service. He made many friends at his job. Not only was he stubborn there, he was stubborn at home and would not go to doctor. When his health was starting to fail no matter how many times family and friends begged him to seek medical care, he would always say he will get through it, we all called him "Dr. Rog". Rog did not win his last fight this time and was called home by his parents, whom he has been wanting to go see for a long time.

Back in his younger years, his love was his 1978 blue TransAm where he and his best friend, Dale Hinds, would race through Maple Park for fun. He definitely loved his fun, fast cars. His other joy and love was his son, Dustin. He was his pride and joy and always made sure he was well taken care of and happy. And then was blessed with his granddaughter, Aliyah, who he cherished. He also was very close to his brother-in-law, Scott Ludke. They spent a lot of time joking with each other and spending a lot of time with each other together. He cherished every day with his family until his final breath.

He is survived by his wife, Terry, his brother Fred (Melody) Needham, his son Dustin (Johanna) Needham and Dustin's mom, DeDe DeStefano, step-sons Corey Marshall and Cale (Dorrie) Marshall; granddaughter, Aliyah Needham, step-grandson, Hunter and soon to be step-grandson Liam Marshall, his nephews and a great-niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his in-laws, Lionel and Earlene Gomez, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

He is preceeded in death by his parents Bill and Virginia Needham, and many aunts and uncles and his grandparents.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him, he was one of a kind. There was a private service per his request.

RIP my love, you are finally pain free.
