William N. "Bill" Koch

William N. ""Bill"" Koch, age 74 of St. Charles, passed away October 25, 2021. Beloved husband of 53 years to Minerva ""Minnie"" nee Ramirez; loving father of William E. (Karen) Koch and Nicole M. (Matthew)
Gee; cherished son of the late Donald and Audrey Koch; proud grandfather of Ashlie Koch, Keaton Koch, Baden Gee and Brandon Gee; dear brother of Terry (Gary) Ellingson and Roger (Janet) Koch; dear uncle of manynieces and nephews. Bill graduated from St. Charles High School in 1965 and graduated from the Chicago Tool and Die Institute in 1970. He retired as a tool and die maker from Fermilab in Batavia in 2013. Bill lived all his life in St. Charles. He was an Eagle Scout and later became a Scout Master for Troop 1. Bill enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR and NHRA drag racing. He even built a dragster in his garage.
Through the years Bill enjoyed many hobbies such as going on archeological digs in southern Illinois and excavating and collecting artifacts. He loved detail work and built beautiful model ships and made sand candles using a unique process. Music was important to him and he was known for his knowledge of Rock and Roll and Pop music. Bill took his family camping in their travel trailer all over Illinois and several other states while his children were growing up. He enjoyed camping, fishing and sitting around the campfire with friends at his favorite spot, Lake Shabonna State Park.
In his later years Bill enjoyed giving his grandkids tractor rides around the neighborhood. They were such fun times. Bill also
enjoyed spending the winters in Myrtle Beach with his wife at their winter home.
A Memorial Service was held at Living Hope
Church (405 W. State Street, North Aurora) on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11 AM.
