Dian Myrtle Bray

Dian Myrtle Bray, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2025. Born August 12, 1945, to Ross and Harriet Harnden, Dian was the youngest of three daughters. After the family moved from Oregon to Happy Camp, California, she spent most of her formative years there. During these years, she was an active band member, playing the clarinet and later the accordion. Highlighting her early achievements, she was first runner-up for Miss Siskiyou County in the 1960s. Dian later moved to Yreka, where she would remain in Siskiyou County for the rest of her life. Throughout her life, Dian was a giver with a huge heart. She always put her family's needs first and made countless sacrifices. Her work in various service roles, including at Beverly Manor and Cummings Drug Store, ultimately led her to discover her true passion in foster care, where she touched the lives of many children. Her generosity extended to the rodeo community, where she actively supported her boys and extended rodeo families. Known for welcoming everyone at her table, Dian especially loved preparing holiday feasts, with her unforgettable apple pie as a highlight. Because of all she gave, Dian will be missed by many. Her legacy of kindness will continue through those she touched She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Pete Bray; her mother, Harriet; her children-Bill Kirby, Debbie Gisler (Eric), Richard Bray (Margie), Pistol Bray (Bam), John Bray (Amanda), Leonard Slemp (Terri), Robb Bray (Kyle), Carol Seal, Bryon Seal, and Kevin Stimson (Andrea)-as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her immediate family, her extended family will cherish her memory. Dian was preceded in death by her father, Ross, as well as her sisters, Nancy Crawford and Patrica Stacey. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
