Patricia Pearl Maplesden

Patricia Pearl Maplesden left this world peacefully at home on September 5, 2025.

How do you put a lifetime of joy, love, heartbreak, despair, and contentment into a few words? Patricia was born on April 6, 1937 in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho, the 4th of 10 children born to Dwight and Edith Stanton. After graduating from Canyonville Bible Academy, she married Benjamin Maplesden, and began her married life as a Navy wife. Upon leaving the Navy, she and her family lived on the Klamath River for years, where Pat worked as a school cook, housekeeper, and raised her family.

After her marriage ended, she moved to Yreka and worked to keep her family together. After her children were on their own, Pat was able to indulge her love of travel and adventure by working at the Oregon Caves, Lake Illiamna and Moose Pass, Alaska, a lodge in the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia, a state park in South Dakota, Acadia National Park in Maine, the oil fields of New Mexico, Mackinac Island State Park in Michigan, and her favorite: a lodge at the base of the Teton Mountains. While on these travels, she made new friends from all over the world.

As much as she loved to travel, Pat was a homemaker at heart and her family always came first. Pat enjoyed music, and played the accordion.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; by her siblings, Dortha, Mabel, Nina, Elton, and the father of her children, Benjamin Maplesden.

She is survived by siblings Ruth, Lois, Wendell, Lindley, and Dwight; her children Linda, Mary Benita, Ginger, and Lewis; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pat will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her, but we rest assured she is where she wanted to be: safe and secure in the arms of Jesus.
