Rodney Eastlick Obituary
Rodney (Rod) Douglas Eastlick, 88-year-old long time Scott Valley resident, passed away Thursday morning, March 20, 2025, following a short illness. Rod was born June 5, 1936, in Yreka to George Douglas and Elma Juanita (Davis) Eastlick. His family originally moved to Scott Valley in the 1850s and he was a descendant of Alexander Eastlick who served in the Revolutionary War.
Rod married his childhood friend Joanne (Jody) Elizabeth Lindholm on August 6, 1955, in Reno, Nev. and the couple settled in Quartz Valley. Rod and Jody's marriage was a very treasured blessing that Rod so missed following Jody's death in 2015. Rod was a member of the Blue Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons in Fort Jones. He worked for many years in family-owned sawmills, in the woods, as a carpenter, as a cabinet maker and as a maintenance worker and woodworking teacher at the Quartz Valley Elementary School. Rod was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loving husband who enjoyed watching Giants games, hunting bucks, stream fishing and raising his four sons, grandkids and great grandkids. Rod always had a smile for you and enjoyed visiting with just about everyone that he encountered, and he will be missed by many.
He is survived by his four sons, Brian and Kathy of Etna, Grant and Lillian of Fort Jones, Rod of Seiad Valley and Morgan and Danielle of Ft. Jones. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Katie and Adam Kraus, Dane and Lizzie Eastlick, Matt and Amanda Eastlick, Tanner and Michelle Eastlick, Trevor and Rachel Eastlick, Clint and Carly Eastlick, Caleb and Makenzie Eastlick, Kelsey and Nick Lehrke, Conner Eastlick and Autumn Brewer, Drew Eastlick, Elizabeth and Jake Monday, Jedidiah Faulkner and Ella Girven, and Zachariah Faulkner. 18 great grandchildren, Ellie Kraus, Quinn Kraus, Norah Eastlick, Callan Eastlick, Henry Eastlick, Elliot Eastlick, Delilah Eastlick, Finley Eastlick, Colton Eastlick, Hailey Eastlick, Evelyn Eastlick, John Eastlick, Bonnie Eastlick, Callie Eastlick, Clayton Eastlick, Camille Eastlick, Laramie Lehrke and baby Monday. He was preceded in death by his wife Jody, his sister Rae Dixon, grandsons, Sawyer Hayes Eastlick, Lowen Rodney Lehrke.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5,2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Ft. Jones Cemetery. Celebration of life to follow at the Fort Jones Community Hall.
