Virginia Ann Parsons, affectionately known as "Ginger," passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Medford, Oregon, at the age of 94.

She is survived by her six children: Britt Parsons of Medford, Oregon; Mila McCurtain of Medford, Oregon; Craig Parsons (wife Beth) of Redding, California; Lonna Wood of Medford, Oregon; Retta Parsons of Santa Cruz, California; and Brook Parsons of Escondido, California. Ginger also leaves behind eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her sister, Barbara Lou O'Dell of Eugene, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Parsons (1929–2018), and her parents, Edward Philbert Filippe (1901–1996) and Minnie Wanda Filippe (née DeAvilla) (1909–2009).

Born on July 29, 1931, in Yreka, California, Ginger grew up in the neighboring towns of Mt. Shasta and Weed. She graduated from Yreka High School in 1949 and attended California State University, Chico. In 1954, she married Jack Parsons, and together they raised six children in a loving and lively home.

Ginger loved people and socializing. Some of her favorite things included hosting parties, entertaining, cooking, going to the symphony, and ballroom dancing with her husband Jack. Having an artistic flare, she learned to draw and paint, had a special knack for interior design, and even sewed most of her children's clothing when they were in elementary school.

Curious by nature, Ginger was a lifelong learner. She researched anything new that caught her interest and read extensively on nutrition, always striving to provide wholesome meals for her family. At 94, she was ready to move on to her permanent home - Heaven.

She will be remembered for her sweet, loving, and gentle spirit.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd at 11:00 AM at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery, 11800 Gas Point Road, Igo, CA 96047. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ginger's life.
