Alfonso Delgado, age 84, of Crystal, Minn., passed away peacefully at North Memorial Hospital on March 11, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on March 5, 1941, to Tomasa (Flores) and Louis Delgado in Grand Island, Neb., Al grew up with nine siblings on the family farm outside of Gibbon, Neb. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served honorably for four years. After retiring from the city, he worked for several years independently in grounds maintenance before retiring full-time. Al is survived by his three children: Brian (Kim) Delgado, Maria (Rob) Ingalls, and David (Lisa) Delgado; as well as six grandchildren: Bennett and Sophia Delgado, Caden and Ella Ingalls, and Selena and Gabriella Delgado. He is also survived by siblings: Charles (Angie) Delgado of Minneapolis, Minn., Richard (Bahar) Delgado of Tucson, Ariz., Margaret Delgado, Katherine (Wayne) Smith and Tina Delgado all of Scottsbluff, Neb. and Maggie Randolph of Grand Island, Neb. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his father and mother; siblings, Phyllis Delgado, Mary Zuniga and Michael Delgado; and grandson, Lucas Delgado.

A funeral Mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be directed to the Animal Humane Society or Michael J. Fox Foundation.
