Catherine "Cathy" K. Zozaya Ingram

November 11, 1950 - September 2, 2025

Catherine "Cathy" K. Zozaya Ingram, age 74, of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with Pastor Matt Snell officiating.

Cathy was born November 11, 1950, in Kearney, Nebraska, to Don and VerJean (Shafto). She graduated from Axtell High School in 1969 and went on to earn her degree from Queen Anne's Cosmetology School in 1971. She married Bob Zozaya in 1970, and together they had four children. Cathy later married Don Ingram.

She was the proud owner of BZ's Bar in Kearney for nine years, later working at Good Samaritan Hospital for 14 years, and also at Kinship Senior Living.

Cathy was an avid dart player who took the game seriously and loved the friendships that came with it. She also enjoyed casino trips every chance she had. Cathy was also a loyal Husker volleyball fan and spent many happy hours cheering on the team. At home, she was devoted to Lifetime movies and would proudly say she had watched every one multiple times.

Above all, Cathy loved her family. She is survived by her children, Bobby (Jenn) Zozaya, Angela (Ward) Nutt, and Christina (Otto) Thompson; sister, Donna Runge; brother-in-law, Charlie Baird; seven grandchildren, Hannah (Josh) Cline, Haley and Javynn Zozaya, Parker (Kyleigh) Nutt, Jace and Jada Thompson and Olivia Mendoza; bonus grandchildren, Sam Zozaya and Sylvie (Anthony) Bonilla, Cruz, and Jax; her great-granddaughter, Kennedy Cline; father of her children, Robert (Shari) Zozaya; as well as many nieces nephews; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and VerJean Shafto; daughter, Tonya; twin grandsons, Matthew and Mark Nutt; sister, Pam Baird; and brother-in-law, Gary Runge.

Cathy spent her later years surrounded by love and support. She was blessed with a family who took wonderful care of her before she moved into an assisted living home. Cathy will be remembered for her kind heart, radiant smile, and the way she brightened every room she entered. She touched countless lives with her warmth and love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and joy that will live on in her family and friends.

Memorials suggested to Ronald McDonald House Charities in honor of her great-granddaughter, Kennedy. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
