Dale was born in Grant, Nebraska, on Jan. 13, 1952, to Merlin and Wilma (Holderness) Burgland. He grew up on a farm in Riverdale, Nebraska, helping with livestock and working at the family Apple Acres business during his growing years.
Dale graduated from Kearney High School in 1970 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He later worked as a conductor at Burlington Northern and then pursued the financial services industry. He started Burgland Financial Services LLC and helped people secure their retirement money. Dale got to know his clients very well and valued them as friends.
When his daughters were growing up, Dale was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Fort Kearney Shriners. He loved taking his family to parades in the summer and having his daughters help him with his clown makeup.
Family was extremely important to Dale and he had close relationships with his children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews. He loved to laugh and didn't have a shy bone in his body. He would do anything to help his loved ones. Family was his priority. Dale also loved to hunt and fish and was so looking forward to his annual ice fishing trip in Colorado with his son and nephews next week.
Dale married Doris Hansen in Las Vegas on Jan. 20, 1983.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters: Jenna Burgland and Krista (Keith) Goodwin; son, Hans (Mindy) Levens; three grandsons, Grayson, Ryder, and Jett; sisters, Connie Jensen and Karen Smith; along with special nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Andy.
Memorial donations will be designated at a later date.
Condolences may be sent to family at 310 Via Del Salvatore, Henderson, NV 89011; or emailed to [email protected].
