I have many fond memories of Ed and his family. Truly they were some of the friendliest and most hospitable people it was my good fortune to know. Ed and I enjoyed the outdoors and nature together. Memories include, hunting( ducks, geese, pheasants and very large rabbits). fishing(very large fish) as well as a vacation trips to Colorado Springs and the Ozarks. On these outings very large and fond memories were created. Ed had a way of making time go way to fast. I remember helping him deliver dry cleaning right after high school and stopping into Wichel’s( maybe it was still Pittenger’s ). For a coke that his dad treated us to. Hard to forget Ed’s passion for classic cars. He had a red chevy impala then a firebird and later a corvette with a 427 and 3 deuces. ( that’s a large motor with a very large horsepower rating). We played basketball on our driveway and talked many nights away just driving around Lexington. I think what I will always remember about my friend Ed is that for such a slim/trim guy he had a very large heart. Sorry I will miss the visitation and funeral old friend but I want you and the world to know that my life was bigger and better because I knew Ed Garcia. Ed’s memories have always and will always make me smile. I know that’s what he would want and the bigger smile the better.
