Edmund "Perry" Hart

WINDSOR, Co. - Edmund "Perry" Hart, 80, of Windsor, Colorado, formerly of Kearney, died peacefully Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at his home surrounded by family after a short battle with ALS.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home.

Edmund Perry Hart was born March 11, 1941, in Lincoln to Rowland and Norma (Volkmer) Hart. He was raised in Hastings and received his education from Hastings High School, graduating with the class of 1958. Perry later attended Union College in Lincoln and later the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
On June 12, 1966, he married Judy Krumland in Columbus. The couple moved to Kearney where Perry was employed as a microbiologist, specializing in bacteriology at Good Samaritan Hospital. He retired in 1995 after 29 years of employment. Perry had also earned his real estate and broker licenses.
In his retirement, Perry achieved a longtime goal of building a home in Redstone, Colorado. In 2013, the couple moved to Windsor, Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hart of Windsor, Colorado; children, Stephen (Lynette) Hart of Kearney, Julie (Michael) Belieu of Parker, Colorado, Melissa (Chad) Hodgson of Gretna and Natalie (Mike) Porter of Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, Joshua Hart, Ericka, Lauren and Thomas Belieu, TJ Hodgson, Charlie and Clark Porter; brothers, Robert (Yvette) Hart of Doniphan, and David (Dee) Hart of Hastings; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Freena and William Volkmer and Rowland and Sarah Hart.
Memorial are suggested to the ALS Association or to the Kearney Area Animal Shelter.
