Ravenna resident, 95

RAVENNA - Evelyn Capellen, 95, of Ravenna died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ravenna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Evans officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna.

Visitation will be before services Friday at the church. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 22, 1917, in Sweetwater to Eugene and Rose (Whittera) Bauer.

On Oct. 26, 1935, she married Lawrence Capellen in Minden. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Eugene Chramosta of Gibbon and Karen and Thad Rueter of Murdock; son, Gary Capellen of Grand Island; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was educated in Sweetwater and Ravenna.

She and Lawrence made their home and farmed near Sweetwater. In 1946, they moved to a farm near Poole. They retired to Ravenna in 1980.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Together with her husband, they created Littleton and enjoyed gardening and family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Bauer.
