January 27, 1973 - June 25, 2025
Heath A. Burgeson, 52 of Kearney passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025 at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Keaney. A reception will immediately follow the service at the funeral home until 4:00 p.m. Casual attire is requested for those attending.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
Heath Allen Burgeson was born January 27, 1973 in Holdrege, NE to David and Victoria (Meier) Burgeson. He was raised in Wamego, KS where he attended Wamego High School, graduating in 1991. On September 2, 2000, Heath was united in marriage to Tammy Pouk in Holdrege, NE. To this union two sons were blessed. They made their home in Kearney where Heath was a longtime employee of Baldwin Filters. He later worked for Blueprint Engines and Chief Industries.
Heath was an avid Husker and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, hunting, and smoking meat. He loved to tinker and could fix anything. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his boys, and family, and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tammy Burgeson of Kearney; sons, Jared and Ryan Burgeson of Kearney; mother, Victoria Phillips of Manhattan, KS; sisters, Nikole (Joe) Modean of St. George, KS and Jennifer (Mike) True of Parker, CO; step-sister, Naomi Phillips of MO; step-dad, Bud (Karen) Phillips of Wamego, KS; special friend, Melissa Taubenheim; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Laurie (Scott) Ziems of Kearney, Angie (Scott) Marquardt of Holdrege, Joe (Shanda) Pouk of Holdrege, Mike (Meghan) Bowman of Kearney; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, many friends and his beloved dog, Maddie.
Heath was preceded in death by his father, David Burgeson; grandparents, Victor and Mildred Meier and Mary Ann and Roy Burgeson; step-grandmother, Peggy Phillips; parents-in-law, Evald Pouk; and Ed and Ruby Bowman.
