Kyle Adam Poff, 44 of Kearney, died June 24, 2025, in Omaha. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, June 30, 2025, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. Kyle was born on July 10, 1980, in Kearney, to Stan and Katha Lynn (Hempe) Poff. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1999.
Kyle married Lisa Mendez on January 31, 2004, in Kearney. They lived in Kearney where Kyle worked for Ed Broadfoot & Sons Sand & Gravel for the past two months. Prior to that, Kyle worked for Kearney Concrete Company for 25 years. Kyle was extremely involved in the concrete industry where he held various titles and earned many awards during his career: 2012 Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association's Presidential Award, in 2013 he and his father Stan formed Concrete Cares of Nebraska, and in 2015 Kearney Concrete Company earns NRMCA Concrete Cares Award. In 2016 Kyle was the Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association President, in 2019 the American Concrete Institute Nebraska Chapter President, and in 2021 Kyle was awarded the American Concrete Institute Chapter Activities Award, this prestigious award was only given to four individuals in the world that year! He was the current Vice President of the Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association and was also active with NC&AA / ACI-NE training for the past 15 years.
Aside from the impact he made in the concrete industry Kyle made an even bigger impact on his community. Not only did Concrete Cares of Nebraska give over to $800,000 in donations to Nebraska families, but Kyle also volunteered with the Teammates Mentoring program, Junior Achievement, Elks Junior Golf, the Forever Pink Foundation and the Platte Valley Cornholers. Kyle enjoyed card club, golfing and camping with friends, along with fishing, hunting, giving his fur babies daily rides, and spending time with family and friends but most importantly he truly enjoyed helping others but especially enjoyed watching his son play soccer over the years.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Lisa Poff; son, Kayden Poff; father, Stan (Jan) Poff; brother, Clay Poff; sisters Kristi (John) Sloane, Jamie Cummings (Jamie Gardner), Anne Cummings; mother in law Jean (Bob) Menke; father in law Sonnie (Shelly) Mendez; brother in law, Vince Mendez; sister in law, Korrinda (Geoff) Jamieson; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Mikayla) Jepson, Dakota Poff, Joslyn (Brecken) White, Myah (Bradyn) Snell, Robert Sloane, Marissa Sloane, Gradey Jamieson, Kainsley Jamieson, Karley Jamieson, Thomas Mendez, Tylor Mendez, Taya Mendez, Avery Reitz, Landon Reitz, great niece, Baela Snell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; and his fur babies Sam and Benny.
Kyle was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauryn Katha Jean Poff; mother, Katha Lynn Poff; and sister in law, Serita Gamez.
