Kyle was born on July 10, 1980, in Kearney, to Stan and Katha Lynn (Hempe) Poff. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1999.

Kyle married Lisa Mendez on January 31, 2004, in Kearney. They lived in Kearney where Kyle worked for Ed Broadfoot & Sons Sand & Gravel for the past two months. Prior to that, Kyle worked for Kearney Concrete Company for 25 years. He was the current Vice President of the Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association and was also active with NC&AA / ACI-NE training for the past 15 years.

Aside from the impact he made in the concrete industry Kyle made an even bigger impact on his community. Kyle enjoyed card club, golfing and camping with friends, along with fishing, hunting, giving his fur babies daily rides, and spending time with family and friends but most importantly he truly enjoyed helping others but especially enjoyed watching his son play soccer over the years.
