Paul Eischeid Obituary

Elgin resident, 53

ELGIN - Paul Henry Eischeid, 53, of Elgin died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at his home northeast of Elgin.

Services were today at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin with the Rev. Dan Andrews officiating. Burial was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Elgin.

Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Feb. 6, 1954, in Norfolk to Edward and Arlene (Heil) Eischeid.

On Sept. 21, 1991, he married Karen Spieker in Elgin.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Jake and Zack, both of Elgin; daughter, Chelsea of Elgin; his mother, of Elgin; brother, Jim of Omaha; and sisters, Marian Wehr of Lexington and Rita Kocian of Seward.

Additional survivors include his sister-in-law, LuAnn Eischeid of Omaha; and brothers-in-law, Doug Wehr of Lexington and Bob Kocian of Seward.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin. He attended St. Boniface Elementary School and graduated from Pope John Central Catholic High School in 1972.

He worked at the Leo Dwyer Ranch during high school. After graduation, he worked for Selting Inc. before starting to farm with his father.

He and his wife were married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin.

Later, he worked for his brother-in-law at Spieker Foundations in Norfolk and then at Tintern Retreat Center south of Oakdale until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Elgin Young Men's Club, a past member of St. Boniface School Board and a past president of the St. Boniface Parish Council. He was a coach for the Elgin Junior PeeWee Boys Baseball team and also enjoyed coaching youth basketball.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and brother-in-law, James Kozicek.
