Paul Little Obituary

Mullen resident, 91

LINCOLN - Paul Raymond Little, 91, of Mullen died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln.

Services will be at 11 a.m. MDT Tuesday at Mullen United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will be at Cedarview Cemetery in Mullen.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. MDT today at Mullen Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1920, in southern Cherry County to Carl and Tennie (Long) Little.

On Jan. 28, 1953, he married Goldie Maire in Mullen.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Gary and his wife, Marg, and Tony and his wife, Anne, all of Kearney, and Alan and his wife, Bonnie, of North Platte; grandchildren and spouses, Bri and Justin Moore, Mandi and Grant Mollring, Eric and Melissa Little, Darrin Little, Janelle Little and fiancé Drew Bauer, Nolan and Laura Little, Lana Little and Rylan and Kayla Little; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Kaleb and Taylor Moore, Jackson Little, Emryk, Arlo and soon-to-be baby Little.

He attended grade school in Cherry County and had one year of high school in Mullen. He was an honorary graduate of Mullen High School in 2000.

Paul worked on area ranches before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served his country on Omaha Beach on D-Day, and his LCT crew received the Presidential Unit Citation for actions on Omaha Beach that day. In 1946, he was honorably discharged.

He and Goldie made their lifelong home in Mullen. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in January 2012.

Paul worked at Mullen Co-op, Lowe Hardware, Johnson Feed store and Mullen Public Schools. After his retirement, he helped mow and trim grass at Cedarview Cemetery. One of his hobbies was working on Maytag washers and dryers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer, Claude and Ivan; sisters, Thelma Pearman, Minnie Gier Miller and Neva Jones Andrews.

Memorials are suggested to Cedarview Cemetery, Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home or the donor's choice.
