My memories of Vance are all so warm. He was always such a nice gentle kind person to everyone. I am honored to have known him for just a little while in my high school years and honored that he stayed in touch. My heart is sad for Dorothy but in awe of their long beautiful life together and what they accomplished together with their family. I am also sad for all of the kids to loose such a great father but I know they will cherish the many many memories he gave them.. He will be watching from heaven. May God keep all of you in his arms and bring you peace in time. My thoughts & prayers are with everyone of you.

Vance was a great assistant city manager. He
Helped me transition into the role of city manager something I had not done before. He frequently would come up with new ideas which were incorporated into the city’s ways of doing business. I was happy to see him get the job of city manager after I left. It was fun for me to follow his tenure in that role. He filled in admirably. He was a great co-worker and friend. Adios amigo

A splendid man was Vance. We had the privilege of meeting him and Dorothy at numerous HS football games in Aurora alongside Kevin and Anita. A kinder man would be hard to find. Our deepest sympathies to the Bricker family. Vance will be missed. God bless you all. The Ziskas

To all of the Bricker family - your dad was such a nice man, such a generous and loving person. I will always remember him. Great neighbors and church friends, and then we moved into your house on Kiowa Lane. Great memories of all of you. May George rest in peace and May God comfort you in your loss. Love and hugs to all of you.

My sincere condolences for your loss. Mr. Bricker often was a substitute teacher when I was at Lexington High School around a decade ago. I remember walking into class one day with the new Tom Clancy book to read and it turns out Mr. Bricker was reading the exact same book. We both had a good laugh about how a 70-year-old man and a 17-year-old student would have the same reading material.

I worked with Vance at the City Office in Lexington and he definitely had a personality and character like few others. He joked with us and offered help and empathy when needed. He loved his family dearly and shared the sentiments often. My life is better by sharing in just a small part of his. RIP Vance.
