Amy Elizabeth Denzin

Graveside services will be held at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 1, for Amy Elizabeth Denzin who died May 20, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO after a brief illness. A time of remembrance and lunch will follow at 11:30 am at the Joy Center on the campus of Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. Amy was born on March 27, 1972, in Sturgis, SD. She spent her early years in Spearfish before moving to the Denver, CO area. After graduating from Northglenn, CO, High School she attended college at Black Hills State University. During her school years Amy could often be found at the ice arena where she skated both individually and as a member of a precision team. She also enjoyed dance and violin lessons. Amy worked as office manager or administrative assistant at several Denver area businesses. Summer highlights included camping/fishing trips with her father and the Denzin and Frei families at Shade Hill reservoir- with Walleye being the favorite catch. There was never a dog that Amy didn't love, and that feeling seemed mutual. She had a special affinity for the Shiba Inu breed. She was always available to babysit foster dogs and support them with her time and money. Amy is survived by her parents Lynn (Rail) Denzin, Thornton, CO and Bill Denzin, Spearfish, SD; her aunts Mary Wendt (Kenneth deceased) Belle Fourche, SD and Pat Hynes (Tom) Guffey, CO; Uncles Tim Rail (Lauri) Casper, WY; Dale Denzin, Buffalo, SD and Lane Denzin (Peggy) Lovell, WY; as well as her long time friend Paul Touma and Shiba Inu Santo, Henderson NV; many beloved cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by her grandparents Eva (Hanify) and Fred Rail, Belle Fourche, SD; Helen and William Denzin, Buffalo, SD; and her cousin/sister Mary Frances Wendt Parfinovics.
