Betty Melow Obituary

Betty Melow, 89, of Brandon, South Dakota, passed away peacefully after a journey with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease at her assisted living home, where she had resided for the past year. Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1935 to Nettie (Oren) and Ed Essem, she was one of twelve siblings. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen Melow Sr., her son Steve Melow, her daughter Judy Wilson (Melow), and several of her siblings. She is survived by her son, Glean (Carrie) Melow; three grandchildren, Ross Melow, Sara Winn (Melow), and Kristen Wilson; several great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Shade Essem, Jerry Essem, Janet McMartin (Essem), Linda Myers (Essem), Willie Essem, and MaryAnn Rhinohart (Essem). A private graveside service for family only will be held at a later date.
