Cynthia Esping Obituary

Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Esping was a caring mother, sister, and friend. She passed away suddenly at her home on September 8, 2021 at age 67, following many years of health and mental health issues. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Cindy was born on August 16, 1954 to Louis and Nola Caron, the oldest of three children. She grew up on the family farm south of Marshall MN, graduating from Marshall Senior High in 1972. In August of 1972, Cindy was united in marriage to Ray Esping of Minneota, MN. Cindy and Ray were blessed with their one son, Michael. Cindy and Ray lived for many years in Marshall where you could find Cindy busy at Johnson's Wallpaper and Paint, framing pictures and helping with wallpaper selections. Later, she worked at Schwan's Food Company. Cindy and Ray moved to Sioux Falls SD in 1995 where she finished her career at Wells Fargo prior to retiring in 2012 for health reasons.

Cindy loved spending time with family, friends, and her dog Lily. She had a great love of animals and volunteered often at the Sioux Falls Humane Society. She was an avid fan of Nascar, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Wild, the Olympics, and any other sports she could watch on TV. She enjoyed completing puzzles, crossword puzzles, sudoku, solitaire, and keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook.

Cindy is survived by her son Mike (Christine) of Sioux Falls; grandchild Ariel; step-grandchildren Samantha, Jenna and Luke; great grandchild Jane; and step-great grandchild Kayson; brother Mike Caron (Donna) of Lake Shore MN, their children Jake (Missy) and family, Whitney (Jerome) and family; sister Cathy Novotny (Kelly) of Prior Lake, MN, their daughters Tasha (Chris) and family, and Marissa; stepbrothers, Scott (Cathy) Ferguson and family and Kirk Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her father Louis, mother Nola Caron Ferguson, and stepfather Ted Ferguson.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Heritage Funeral Home, 4800 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls SD 57108. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sioux Falls Humane Society on her behalf.

So sorry to see Cindy's passing. I used to work with her at Wells Fargo and she was the sweetest lady that will be greatly missed. I remember her talking about her grand-dog that was Mike's Doberman Pinscher. I had a miniature one so we talked a lot about them. Such a beautiful lady inside and out, thinking about you all during this time.

I was so sad to get your call Mike. Even though I didn't know Cindy very long it was easy to see what a beautiful soul she had. We all enjoyed her at GSS-Scotland. She worked so hard to get back to her home. I am so glad her path crossed ours here in Scotland. With deepest sympathy.

I’m saddened to learn of Cindy’s passing. I remember many good times with her for we were in the same graduating class.
Find solace that Cindy is now a twinkling star in our heavens.
