Evelyn Severson Obituary
Evelyn Adeline (Kuipers) Severson was born on January 7, 1930 to Conrad and Jennie (Vanden Bos) Kuipers in Platte, SD. She graduated from Platte High School and went on to work as a Dietary Aide at the Platte Community Hospital for 23 years. Evelyn was united in marriage to Donald Martin Severson on February 14, 1951 at the Platte Christian Reformed Church. She was an active member of the Platte Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading.
Grateful for having shared in Evelyn's life, her four sons: Dennis (Carol) Severson of Platte, SD, Dale (Charlene) Severson of Platte, SD, Dean (Marlys) Severson of Whittier, CA and Duane (Karen) Severson of Norfolk, NE; 13 grandchildren: Dori (John) Boysen, Parker Severson, Kevin (Tara) Severson, Laura (Perry) DeHaan, Michael (Cassie) Severson, Joel (Jaci) Severson, Jamie Schilling, Chad (Alicia) Severson, Amanda (James) Sofranko, Steven Severson, Emily (Griffin) Perry, Amy (Dustin) Johnston and Brandi (Ray) Slaba; 23 great grandchildren: Robert, Joey and Zach Boysen, Jarod, Jalen, Jerni, Jacoby and Jemma Severson, Koen and Levie Johnston, Brooklyn, Reggie, Jayce and Tenly Slaba, Jaxson, Tucker and Charlie DeHaan, Kayson, Boston and Lincoln Severson, Aurora and Alexandria Severson, Wesley Perry; along with many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Don Severson (Aug. 9, 2018); her parents, Conrad and Jennie Kuipers; three brothers: Henry, William and Albert Kuipers; a sister, Margaret De Vries; and a daughter-in-law, Cindi (Walker) Severson.
