Hi u Vu, 60, passed away at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Hi u was born on November 19, 1962, in Vietnam to Hoành Vu and Chính Ph m. He attended school in Vietnam and later moved to South Dakota in 1981. It was in South Dakota that he met his partner Phuong Vu. In 2001, he moved with his family to California where he drove a catering truck, and later, in 2011, he moved back to South Dakota where he worked at UPS. On March 18, 2018, he had a stroke and was eventually moved to the Avera Sunset Manor where he lived until he had a second stroke on December 5, 2022. Hi u was an enjoyer of 80's music, fishing, and fast cars. His gem was a 2014 Dodge Charger R/T Max and he was always listening to artists like ABBA and Loverboy. Fishing was a joy that he shared with his kids, often taking them to Chamberlain, SD, or Family Park. He will be greatly missed by his partner, Phuong; his children, Linh, Tommy, and Kim; his brothers, Hi u and H i; and his sisters, H nh, Hu Huong. Funeral services will take place at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with Father David Krogman officiating.
