Mary Jacobson

Mary Irene Jacobson, 65, passed away Wednesday, September 13, at Dougherty Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Irene Chaney was born September 17, 1957, to Wayne and Marge Chaney in Sioux Falls, SD. She was united in marriage with Randy Jacobson on June 11, 1977, together they had three children, Jay (deceased) Chanel Sullenger, Jenna (Efrain) Ramirez and 11 grandchildren, Trey Jacobson, Jaden Carmel, Jayce Stadlman, Malaya Jacobson, Josh Sullenger, Efrain Jr. Ramirez, Searra Sullenger, Karsten Ramirez, Kaylee Mitchell, Milliana Ramirez, Emily Sullenger; and has seven siblings, Patty (Duane) Deheer, Libby (Doug) Friman, Kathy Seggerman (deceased), Wanita (Doug) Amundson, Tim Chaney, Doug (Janice) Chaney, Wayne (Liz) Chaney. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kathy and her son, Jay.
Mary worked for Avera Home Hospice from 1998 to May 2023 when she retired. She also worked for Sertoma Bingo for many years cooking and calling Bingo. She was known for her famous brownies and spring salad. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved when all family and grandchildren could come together.
Funeral service will be held 11:00am Monday, September 18, 2023 at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation with family present will be Sunday, September 17, from 4:00-6:00pm with a prayer service at 5:00pm in our chapel.com
