Sue Good Obituary

Carol, affectionately known as Sue (Susie) Jacobsen Good, 83, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Sanford Hospice Cottages on April 2, 2024. Sue was born on August 3, 1940 in Yankton SD to Randolph and Alice Jacobsen. She was the middle child of nine siblings. She graduated from Yankton High School and went on to marry Larry Good on May 25, 1968. They had one child, Teresa (Terri). She worked at various office jobs including doing the bookkeeping for Larry's own business, Good's Tire Service. But her favorite job was being a stay at home mom. She was an avid volunteer and enjoyed giving her time to Meals On Wheels, the Butterfly House, McCrossen's Boys Ranch, Lyons Club and Active Generations to name just a few. She loved to host tea parties, make her famous peanut brittle around Christmas, spend time in the Black Hills and help babysit her "Grandbirds", Bailey and Spud. But most of all she loved her big crazy extended family. Happy to have shared her life is her husband Larry and daughter Terri (Mike) Fisher of Sioux Falls. Sister Margaret Engen of Wakonda, SD, brothers Tom(Jean) Jacobsen of Fayetteville, AR and Steve (Chris) Jacobsen of Yankton, SD. Numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother BIll and his wife Kay Jacobsen, brother Jack Jacobsen, sister Marge and her husband Jim Berke, sister Neacy and her husband John Powell, sister Becky Thunker and Brother-in-laws Jim Engen and Bob Good and his wife Ruth. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.

Sue was always so kind to my mom Monica. They were good friends since us kids were in elementary school. When my mom got so sick two years ago, Sue was a frequent visitor at my mom´s bedside. I am so sad my mom didn´t get to say goodbye due to her dementia to Sue. Your mom and wife was such a great friend and we enjoyed her famous peanut brittle every year at Christmas. She cared so much about others and showing it through friendship and volunteering all the time. She will be dearly missed and remembered.

Larry and Terry sending my sympathy and love.
