Died: November 2, 2022
Craig O. Johnson, age 70 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family, at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born on December 19, 1951 in Spring Valley, IL the son of James R. and Hazel (Holman) Johnson.
Craig was united in marriage on December 12, 1970 to Ina Harkins and they spent the next 51 years happily together. Mr. Johnson was employed for 30 years by Caterpillar, Inc in Aurora, IL until his retirement. Following retirement Craig was employed for several years by the Kendall County Forest Preserve. Mr. Johnson was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Craig was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Craig is survived by his wife, Ina Johnson of Yorkville, IL; his daughter, Amy (Scott) Gengler of Yorkville, IL; his son-in-law, Jon Berg of Homer Glenn, IL; his grandchildren, Chloe and Quinn Campbell, Sawyer Gengler, Ellie, William and Natalie Berg; his sisters, Penny Peterson, Sue McGhee and Dawn Johnnic; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, James and Patricia Johnson; his mother, Hazel Wilfong; his daughter, Rebecca Berg; and his nephew, Hunter Johnnic.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 IL Route 47, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.
