John Bartley Luttrell Sr., 59, of Sandwich, IL, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 12, 2019. He was born on May 8, 1959 in Sandwich, IL to Leon and Betty (Culhane) Luttrell.
John lived most of his life in Sandwich, IL, but spent a short time in Louisiana. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his friends and family. John had a fun, outgoing personality and a good sense of humor. He didn't know a stranger. John had a strong work ethic. He was willing to help anyone with tasks from construction, electrical wiring, to mechanics. John mastered several trades, and his career in the trucking industry spanned over 35 years.
He is survived by his children, Melody Luttrell of River Ridge, LA, and John (Katy) Luttrell Jr. of Metairie, LA; grandchildren, Lily Steinvorth and John "Bart" Luttrell III; father, Leon Luttrell of Sandwich, IL; brother, David Luttrell of Sandwich, IL; sister, Linda (Dean) Zingre of Sandwich, IL and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his mother, Betty Luttrell; and his brother, Jeff Luttrell.
Visitation will be held at Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL on Saturday, January, 19, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Sandwich, IL.
