Steve Kapas Obituary
Steve M. Kapas, age 59 of Sugar Grove, IL passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. Steve was the son of George and Pauline Kapas.
Steve was the longtime owner and operator of Creative Photography in Plano, IL. Steve was also in property management and he recently opened the Monte Carlo Steakhouse and Bar in Plano, IL. Mr. Kapas was a member of Saint Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Aurora, IL. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, and cousin who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his mother, Pauline Kapas of Sugar Grove, IL; and his two sisters, Sue Kapas and Helen Kapas of Aurora, IL, along with Salvatore Amico, Andy Najar and his uncle and aunt, Theo Nick and Thea Pauline Sainas of Vancouver, Canada.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, George Kapas; and his paternal grandparents, Spiros and Helen Kapas; as well as his maternal grandparents, Alexandros and Stavroula Sainas.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 28, 2021 at Saint Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 5th Ave, Aurora, IL.
Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South St. in Plano, IL
Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.

I was so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of this wonderful man. We became good friends at Eagle Brook and stayed golfing and dining together for many years. I will miss you, my dear friend. So sorry to hear of your passing my Friend I will always remember you. Everytime I walk into the restaurant for work I will never forget the journey that I was honored to take with you! You got to see it happen but only for a short time but will always be Remebered and never forgotten rest easy your struggle is over watch over all us as we carry on with your restaurant!

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Steve. I am in shock to realize this. It was barely a month ago I saw both he and Paulene at the Monte-Carlo. Know you are all in my prayers.
