Ann ODay Obituary

Ann O'Day

1919 - 2017

Ann O'Day, 98, a resident of Kenosha, died on Monday June 5, 2017, at her home.

Ann was born in Kenosha on April 29, 1919, to Albert and Mollie (Fay) Kappus.

In addition to being a mom, Ann was widely known for her many volunteer activities. She was a founding member of the St. Catherine's Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and helped at St. Mark's Catholic Church and School and at St. Joseph's High School. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and MGV Harmonia. Ann was also a member of the Sunnyside Club and a lifelong Packer fan.

Ann is survived by her sons, John (Sue) O'Day, and Michael O'Day and by her daughters, Mary Maday and Carol (Peter) Sieber as well as 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald O'Day, her son Tom O'Day, her brother Edward Kappus, and her sister Fay Eisenhauer.

Funeral services for Ann will be held on Thursday June 8, 2017, at Kemper Center's Founders Hall (6501-3rd Avenue) at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Founders Hall from 5 p.m. until the time of services. A private burial will take place at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, spread joy in the world, send flowers to those you love rather than to the service, donate money to a charity of your choice, and "Take your Grandmother out to lunch".

Dear Ann I hope you and Don are once again together. You were my first employerI worked for you when I was 15. Your mom Molly had just gone to heaven and you had your 2nd child. I remember going to the hospital with Don to pick the baby up.You all were so kind to me. I am very sure God has a special golden chair for you and Don up there. Thank you for all your love and friendship. God Bless you always. Love, gloria

Jean and Maday family,
I don't have the words to take away the sadness you must be feeling during this time. I hope you'll take comfort in knowing I wish I did. Over the years you've shared so many wonderful stories about Grandma Ann. She sounded like quite the character and I'm sure you are grateful for the time you had with her. My sincerest condolences for your loss. Hugs to you all.
