Charles Lombardi Obituary

Charles Lombardi

November 15, 1933 - November 30, 2024

Chuck Lombardi, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at his Phoenix, AZ, resort.

He was the fourth child of Onofrio and Ida (Mattioli) Lombardi, Italian immigrants making Kenosha home. Raised partly by his eldest sister Viola (1918-1994), Chuck was embraced in a loving family of uncompromising love and respect for family and church, which he showed through loving examples daily.

Clearly enjoying life as the most devoted husband to "The Love of His Life" Arlene (of Racine), Chuck was richest with his growing family and proud to share. He was the beloved father of five: Lorna Eldred (1959-2024), Deanna (Rod) Pappas, Gina, Charles and Richard "Rick" (1964-2014); grandfather of seven: Melanie (Eldred) Walters, Julia (Eldred) Kindred, Melissa, Kimberly and Derek Pappas, Charles "Max" and Richard Lombardi); and great grandfather of eight: Everly, Nash, Elsie and Dax Walters, Shiloh Kindred, and Liam, Luca and Levi Lombardi. Quite aware of the significant loving family he grew, Chuck always had some new family accomplishment to boast about, honest living his best.

A carpenter by trade, first as a Navy Seabee mastering his craft, and then becoming a proud Kenosha business owner of Lombardi Construction Co., which was his humble way of always putting his name behind his work. Reaching his own standard of excellence, Chuck enjoyed a well-earned reputation for quality workmanship from his clients and all those close to him.

He took his "quality sells" approach helping his son Rick build his own business, A&R Door Service, which grandson Richard Jr. owns and proudly continues the same Lombardi Legacy.

Well known for his quick wit and fun ability to tell jokes, Chuck often had folks bursting out in laughter. A favorite, Chuck and Arlene would light up dance floors at weddings, often leading the way as his contagious smile compelled all to dance. He was a proud member of the Italian American Society and Roma Lodge. He also loved a good game of golf, whether playing or watching, and Green Bay Packer games or Wisconsin Badger games were always his pick on TV. Chuck loved volunteering for many organizations, a few being Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church and the Kenosha Achievement Center, so in lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the church or KAC.

Chuck's daughter, Lorna, passed away suddenly on November 6th, a few short weeks earlier than him. A memorial service will be held to honor them both on Friday, December 20th at 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church.

I am very sorry for your loss. Charlie was friends with both my dad, Ed Solovey and my father in law, Augie Ridolfi because they all worked in the trades. Charlie was such a kind man and could tell the funniest stories. He was very proud of his family.

)h, my gosh - I was so surprised to read of the passing of Chuck - a long time friend and fellow parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish! His work ethic was second to none - my mother, Elizabeth Fonte always called him if she needed some work to be done at her house - that pleasant easy going personality was always a plus to his customers - and the never ending help with projects at Holy Rosary! He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him!
