Gemma Tenuta

1938 - 2017

Gemma Tenuta, 79, of Kenosha, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Aurora Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Born on June 3, 1938, in Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Carmella (Tenuta) Aceto.

On March 21, 1959, she married Mariano Tenuta in Buenos Aires, Argentina and in 1976, they moved and made Kenosha their home. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2008.

Gemma was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Surviving her are her twin sons, Francisco Antonio (Saveria) Tenuta and Juan Carlos (Giulia) Tenuta, both of Kenosha; a daughter, Liliana (Maximo) Bauza of Kenosha; six grandchildren, Pablo, Sergio, and Gabriela (Kyle) Bardele, and Mariano, Angelica and Isabella Tenuta, all of Kenosha; two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Luca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Esterina, Maria, Carolina, and Conception Aceto; and two brothers, Orlando and Giuseppe Aceto.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with a prayer service at Proko Funeral Home prior at 9:15 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Proko Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
