Gerald Lee "Jerry" Schilz

Gerald Lee "Jerry" Schilz, 86 years old of Silver Lake, WI, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025 in Burlington, WI. He was born August 5, 1939 in Burlington, WI, the son of the late John and Marjorie (nèe Spiegelhoff) Schilz. On June 10, 1961, Jerry married Karen Ann Richards at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wilmot, WI. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He spent his career of over 30 years at American Motors Corporation/Chrysler in Kenosha as a production planner.
Jerry was the homecoming King and Karen was the homecoming Queen at Wilmot High School in 1957. They were lifelong parishioners at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wilmot and Jerry served as a sacristan.
Jerry loved fishing, especially at his cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. He also loved playing cards with the boys. He was a coach at Lakeland Little League for many years.
Jerry is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Karen; their children, Craig (Susan) Schilz, Curt (Robin) Schilz, Christine (Cale) Wright; their seven grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Morgan, Adam, Lauren, Casey, Marcie; their four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jaxon, Hazel, Lennyn, and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harvey Schilz and James Schilz.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., until 11:00 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 30100 Wilmot Rd., Wilmot, WI 53192. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery, Wilmot. For additional information, call 847-395-4000.
