Jane Ellen Rudy
1923 - 2014
Jane Ellen Rudy, 90, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center.
Born on Oct. 31, 1923, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Grabe) Jorgensen.
Raised and educated in Kenosha, Jane was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School and attended UW- Madison.
On July 12, 1947, she united in marriage to Dale J. Rudy at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children and 64 years of marriage before Dale passed away on April 23, 2012.
Jane was a 50 year member and past president of the Kenosha Womens Club, a 20 year member of the Kenosha Girl Scouts, was a member of the Kenosha Chapter of the UW Alumni and served on their board. She also served on the board of AFS (American Field Service), was a member of the Kenosha Hospital Auxiliary and was a poll worker for 8 years. Jane was an enthusiastic player of Bridge and Pinochle.
A loving mother and grandmother, Jane will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Mary Jo Kelly of Pewaukee and Kathy Rudy Herr of Kenosha; a brother, Richard Jorgensen of Santa Barbara, Calif.; five grandchildren, Scott (Genie) Kelly, Kevin (Any) Kelly, Megan (Adam) Little, Rosemary Herr and Michelle Herr and five great grandchildren, Jack, Max, Reagan, Addison and Caleb.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jim.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery. A visitation for Jane will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Kenosha Womens Club, 6028 8th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53143 would be appreciated.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Regent Manor, Parkside Manor and Right At Home for their patience and extraordinary care given to Jane.
