John Roe Obituary

John A. Roe

1961 - 2018

John Albert Roe, 56, passed away in Cassville, Wis. on Thursday Oct. 18, 2018, while out fishing.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1961 in Kenosha, Wis., the son of James and Mary Lou (Roschi) Roe. He was one of six children born to Jim and Mary Lou, and was very close to all of his siblings, especially his two younger brothers. John attended St. Francis Xavier grade school in Brighton, Wis., and completed high school at Salem Central in Paddock Lake, Wis.

On June 21, 1980, he married Pamela Kay Lowry. Together they had one daughter, Emily, born March 1, 1995.

John was a general contractor and began his partnership with Mike Sasser to form Sasser and Roe Inc. in 1995. Their bond was more of a brotherhood than business partners. He was a very skilled carpenter, and each home they crafted contained a part of John reflecting his artistic expression and attention to detail. Many of Johns friends started out as customers, how many contractors can say that? He had the biggest heart, great smile and boisterous laugh. He was thoughtful, selfless, hardworking, and dedicated.

John loved cooking; he was our family grill master, fish fryer, and Roe Deer Camp chef. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time in Cassville, whether he was in the woods or on the river, and back at home in Burlington John enjoyed golfing and baggo with his friends. Most of all John loved spending time with his family and friends.

Everyone who knows John, knows that he worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. He will be truly missed by many. Until we meet again, we love you.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pam; a daughter, Emily Roe, of Burlington, Wis.; his parents James and Mary Lou Roe of Cassville, Wis.; his in-laws, Kenneth and Myrtle Marie Booher of Rockport, Texas; Siblings: Kathy (Randy) Meyer of Pulaski, Wis.; Suzanne (James Remilong) Roe of Big Bend, Wis.; Debra (Robert King) Roe of Morton, Ill.; David (Terri) Roe of Burlington, Wis.; and Bob (Shelby) Roe of Cassville, Wis.; ten nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harold Roe, Leona Miner, and Helen & Charles Roschi.

There will be two celebrations of life to honor Johns memory, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at Belle Vita Banquets (34816 Geneva Rd., Burlington, WI 53105) from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., and Wednesday Nov. 21, 2018, at Anker Inn Smokehouse (11008 WI Hwy 133, Cassville, WI 53806) also from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In lieu of plants and flowers, a John A. Roe Memorial Fund has been established with proceeds being distributed to local emergency and rescue services. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Cassville has been entrusted to assist the family.
