Kathryn Koza Obituary

Kathryn A. Koza

Born in Kenosha on December 12, 1937, she was the eldest daughter of the late Chester and Dorthy Kobelinski. Survived by her sister, Sr. Kathryn Ann Kobelinski, SSND, and predeceased by her late brother, James P. Kobelinski both of Kenosha.

She was the wife of the late Russell C. Koza Sr. Ph.D.; mother of Russell C. Koza Jr., Dr. Marya A. Koza-Saade, Cynthia L. Koza, and Darrell J. Koza, Ph.D. She was a proud grandmother of six.

After receiving her B.S. in Nursing, Kathryn joined the U.S. Navy enjoying her travels to San Diego, Calif., Anchorage, Alaska, and Newport, R.I. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, she started her second career as a wife, mother, and homemaker for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlepoint, and embroidery. An avid reader of romance novels, Kathryn would often take a break to read the latest Barbara Cartland novel.

Kathryn will be laid to rest with her husband of 34 years at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody, Mass. Funeral and burial will be private.

The family would appreciate donations to the Russell C. Koza Memorial Polish Heritage Scholarship at the University of Rhode Island. You may mail a check made payable to URI Foundation and Alumni Engagement, to PO Box 1700, Kingston, R.I. 02881, with a note in the memo line of " Russell C.
