La Kreuser Obituary

La Verne Edna Kreuser

March 5, 1930 - April 18, 2024

KENOSHA - La Verne Edna Kreuser, age 94, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on April 18, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family, following a short illness.

Born on March 5, 1930, in Racine, WI, she was the daughter of Walter Adam Barth and Margaret Ida (Boelt) Barth.

She was raised in Racine and graduated from Horlick High School in 1948. La Verne worked in the office at Walker Manufacturing until her marriage in January 1951 to Harold Floyd Kreuser.

They were wed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Racine, WI. She moved to Kenosha after her marriage. After her children were grown, she enjoyed a second career at Gateway Technical Institute as a Registrar.

Throughout La Verne's life, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her young daughters, bowling, knitting (especially all the slippers!), playing pinnacle, cribbage, and dancing with the light of her life, her husband, Harold "Babe" Kreuser. Most important to La Verne was her family. She always supported school activities and sports in which her children and grandchildren were involved. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha for most of her adult life.

La Verne is survived by her three children: Diane L. Carlson of Kenosha, Linda (Frank) Peterson of Las Vegas, and Jim (Jane) Kreuser, Sr. of Kenosha. She is further survived by six grandchildren: Edwin Haack, Jeannie Ledwitch, Christopher Haack, Valerie Quintero, Jim Kreuser, Jr., and Justin Kreuser; and eleven great-grandchildren: Joseph Rundlett, Samantha Ledwitch, Madelaine Ledwitch, Brooke Haack, Kaden Haack, Evan Haack, Bethany Haack, Leah Carver, Jesse Quintero, Gloria Quintero and Evelyn Kreuser.

Along with her parents and her husband, La Verne was preceded in death by her infant son, Edwin Harold Kreuser, in 1959, grand-daughter, Angela Nichole Peterson, in 2009, and her brother, Walter Edward Barth.

The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance for their education and support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha, 7104-39th Avenue. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
