Lisa Peterson Obituary
1960 - 2016
Lisa Rose Maritato Peterson, 55, of Ashburn, Va., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family from a rare form of Alzheimer's disease.
Born on August 17, 1960, in Abilene, Texas, she was the daughter of Frank Rocco Maritato and the late Diane Marie Porcaro Maritato.
At a young age Lisa and her family moved from Texas to Racine Wis., the hometown of both Frank and Diane.
Lisa was a very active child, she loved music and dancing. She had a tender spot in heart for all of God's creatures and helped them whenever and wherever she could.
She attended Saint Catherine's High School where she participated in Band. She was also very physically fit and enjoyed swimming, running, hiking, and jumping. She became a top group exercise instructor at various Racine health clubs.
Lisa was very family oriented and remained close to the family throughout her life. She worked for many years with her father in his dental practice and with her mother in her real estate business. In 2001 Lisa joined her sister in Ashburn, Va. Lisa worked as a Human Resources Specialist for various companies in Northern Virginia. In 2005 she met the love of her life and future husband, Patrick M. Peterson. They were married on Sept. 10 of the same year. Lisa and Patrick enjoyed nearly 11 years together.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband Patrick Peterson; father, Frank Maritato; brothers, Mitchell Maritato (m. Deborah Maritato) and Frank Maritato (m. Karen Maritato); sister, Nancy Maritato; and nieces, Meagan Maritato, Emily Maritato, Gianna Custard, and Zoë Custard.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St, Herndon, VA 20170, with Pastor Fred Clark officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org or to Insight Memory Care Center, insightmcc.org.

Although it has been almost 6 Years since your passing, I think of you often and wish you hadn´t gone so soon ! I think of the times we had in Herndon the first time you moved to Virginia. I think of the day we met while standing in line at the bank. I think of helping you move to the apartment near the toll road. So often I think of you ! All of the time, Though it was short was some of the best times for me. There´s So much more I could say, so many positive things about you.
I am sure that your husband and family members think of you often As I Do. I am sure we will meet again in heaven until then my rose fly high angel

I just learned of Lisa's passing, and into Heaven, I'm sure! She was such a kind friend to my sister, Kathy. I was one year behind them at Saint Cat's and whenever I heard she was coming over, I stayed home, just to say "Hi, Lisa!" an appreciate her beautiful smile, huggs, and personality! She even let me drive her dad's TR7 around the block!
It was a very memorable 5 minutes for me having the neighbors not only seeing me driving an awesome car, but having a beautiful young woman riding shotgun! I will never forget that, but there are many more happy memories of Lisa, as you all know! She was the best of friends and her smile lives on in our hearts, Thanks to Frank and Diane!
