Margaret Martin Obituary
1943 - 2014
Margaret H. (Varju) Martin, 71, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014.
She was born on March 20, 1943, to the late Alex and Catherine (Sweeti) Varju in Racine. She was educated at Holy Name School, graduating from St. Catherine's High School in Racine. She also attended UW-Whitewater.
On Aug. 25, 1962, she married Lawrence F. Martin.
Margaret owned and operated the Academy of Baton & Dance in Uptown Kenosha for many years. She then worked as a shipping manager at Sanmina Corp. until retiring in 2009, due to a diagnosis of ALS.
Margaret enjoyed camping, sewing, playing cards, and reading, and loved Hilton Head Island. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her children, Theresa (Mark) Vendetti of New Albany, Ohio, Patricia (Scott) Schuetz of West Bend, Wis., and Lawrence R. (Michele) Martin of Pleasant Prairie; her grandchildren Matthew and Timothy Schuetz, Alexandra and Isabella Vendetti and Gianna and Mayli Martin; her sister, Mary (Patrick) Raven; her niece, Elizabeth (Christopher) Juern; her nephew, Thomas (Magdalene) Raven; her sister-in-law, Ruth Csavoj and other aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, her grandchildren, Elise Maria, Ella Blu, Maya Grace and Lawrence Martin all in infancy, and a special friend, Don Lambrecht Sr. preceded her in death.
A Memorial Mass for Margaret will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church (7400 – 39th Ave., Kenosha). Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
