Mark Paczkowski Obituary

Mark M. Paczkowski

1955 - 2019

Mark Paczkowski, 63, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, surrounded by family in Kenosha, Wis. He had fought a short but courageous battle against Angiosarcoma Cancer.

Born in Kenosha, Wis. on Oct. 4, 1955, to William and Lucy Paczkowski. Following the death of his mother, Mark and his brothers were raised by his grandmother Angelina whom Mark loved dearly. He attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph's Academy, where he graduated with honors in 1973.

Mark moved to Scottsdale, Ariz where he had spent the last 32 years of his life. He worked as a Conventions Manager at Driftwood Hospitality Management before returning home to Kenosha to spend his last days with his loving family. Marks fun loving, outgoing personality was infectious to those who knew him, and those who met him in passing. Anyone who knew Mark, knew how much he loved being around his family and friends.

He is survived by his two older brothers, Nicholas (Laura) Paczkowski and William (Katherine) Paczkowski, both of Kenosha. His cousin, Theresa (Hunter) Chamberlain of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who Mark loved as if they were his own children.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandmother, Angelina (Buttera) Covelli, parents, William F. Paczkowski and Lucia (Covelli) Paczkowski, brother, Richard Paczkowski, two nephews William R. Paczkowski Jr. and Dustin L. Paczkowski.

I woke up this morning wondering where Mark was working as I hadn't heard from him in a while. I first met Mark in 1987 in Scottsdale and we both worked in hospitality, knew the same people, etc. Mark took my old job at the Loews Paradise Valley Resort as Concierge when I moved to San Diego. I came back to visit and met Mark. I instantly liked him and his boisterous laugh. We would hit the clubs together, go shopping on our days off, and just have a great time. Most recently he helped me with a conference in Tempe and it was not unusual for us to communicate once or twice a year as time permitted. I was very saddened and shocked to learn of Mark's passing. Your obituary tells a very accurate story of his glowing personality and love of life. He told me countless stories of his dear grandmother and life in Kenosha over the years. Please accept my most sincere condolences. His light brightened this world.
