Michelle Shatkins Obituary

Michelle Sue Shatkins

1966 - 2018

It was noted last week that there was quite a ruckus at Club St. Pete when Shell Bell arrived unannounced. She stated to St. Peter "I'm here for the bartending job." St. Peter replied, "You're early we're not quite ready for you yet." "Well I'm here" she said, "If you have a problem with that take it up with your boss." With that she shoved him aside and entered shouting, "Shots of Crown for everyone-Shell Bells pouring! WEEEEEE!" St. Peter then realized there was no better bartender for the saints then a little devil.

Michelle Sue Shatkins passed away on Thursday Sept. 27, 2018. She was born to Rollie and Gayle (Fontaine) Shatkins on Sept. 22, 1966.

Shell Bell, as she was affectionately known had an infectious laugh and was an avid cat lover as well as die hard Packer and Cub fan. Being the life of every party, she especially enjoyed picking out Paulies outfits and dressing him up for the annual May Day party. Also, she enjoyed her friend Timmy's company as they spent many nights up till dawn "doing stuff."

She also loved karaoke especially singing "Love Shack" with her stepdad Paulie. She enjoyed playing pool and was proud of her sleeve tattoo honoring her mother.

She was employed by the Brat Stop and Jockey in her early years and was also a great bartender for many area bars including Jill's, Keith's Shooters, Sreamin Mimi and the Interlude II.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her cats Tubby and Rocky.

She is survived by her step father Paul (Pam Tenuta) Caraher, brothers Daniel "Boone" (Elizabeth) and R.C. (Candy) Shatkins. She is further survived by nieces Heather, Natalie, and Courtney along with nephews Michael (Tina) and Cameron, and great nephews Sylis and Elijah. She also leaves behind many great friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service/fundraiser and celebration of Shell Bells life will be held at the Interlude II on Sunday Oct. 7, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
