Patrick Wepking Obituary

Patrick Wepking

March 1, 1966 - May 29, 2025

Patrick "Pat" John Wepking, 59, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love of his wife and family.

Pat was born to Paul and Sharon (Kite) Wepking on March 1, 1966, at 12:25 a.m. in room 411A of Kenosha Hospital. Only four days later, in the very next room, his future wife would be born, though they would not meet until 18 years later. As a child and rebellious teen, Pat developed a deep passion for music, a great appreciation for cars, and a love for all things Wisconsin sports. Pat graduated from Central High School in 1984. At 18, Pat finally met the love of his life, Denise (Rice) Wepking, when the two worked together at Shopko. They were united in marriage on August 10, 1985.

Pat's greatest joys in life were all things that grew from the love in his marriage. Throughout his marriage, Pat discovered his love for traveling with Denise, especially to the tropical islands of Kauai and Maui. His idea of a peaceful afternoon was a hammock, some tunes, and the crashing waves.

Pat and Denise have two lovely daughters, Haley and Kelly, and two fur babies, Rocky and Ozzy. Kelly found the love of her life in Daniel Capel of Madison, Wis., and the couple gave Pat and Denise the three greatest gifts of their lives, their wonderful grandchildren, Owen Patrick, age seven, Ava Rae, age five, and Emma Mary, age one. Pat finally found his calling when he became a grandpa, and he loved his three grandkids with his whole heart.

Patrick, or Pat to those who knew him, was a man whose passion knew no bounds. The people and things he loved, he loved hard, and the things he didn't, he made sure you'd know. One of his biggest passions was music, and it was rare he would not have a speaker going. He loved not only listening to the music, but to the message that the words can carry, and always wanted to make sure those he loved shared that same appreciation. He took a similar approach to most things in life; he wanted every detail perfect, so that things could be enjoyed to their fullest. He wanted to share anything he loved with those closest to him, whether that be a recommendation to listen to the lyrics of a song a little closer, or to try *just* a bite of his newest culinary discovery. He was larger than life, a "Mr. Fix It", he always had the solution for everything, no matter how big, or small, the issue.

Pat's heart was so big, even though he tried to hide it behind his tough exterior. He will always be remembered for his attention to detail, the passion he brought to everything he did, his desire to share all the things he enjoyed, his silly voices that he would make with his grandkids, and his goofy dance moves. He always stood by his word, took the difficult path when it was the right one, and would do anything for the ones he loved.

He will be missed by his wife, his daughters, his grandchildren, and his two beloved pups. He is further survived by his parents, Paul and Sharon Wepking; his brothers, Bart Wepking and Bret (Stacy) Wepking; and sister, Brenda (Chris) Barribeau. We hope he is enjoying his endless day in his hammock on the beach in the sky, and we hope he will be there to welcome us when we each make our way on to paradise.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home with funeral services commencing at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the ALS Association, or the American Heart Association, in his memory.
