Paula Jean Jacobs

PADDOCK LAKE - Paula Jean Jacobs, 76 years old, of Paddock Lake, WI, formerly of Plano, IL, passed away peacefully Monday, October 16, 2023, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL. She was born February 11, 1947, in Aurora, IL the daughter of the late Lawrence and Shirley (Thielman) Sauve.
Paula lived in Plano, IL for 27 years before settling in Paddock Lake, WI in 2000. Paula was a graduate of West Aurora High School, Aurora, IL, Class of 1965.
Before her retirement, Paula began her career as a Key Punch Operator for Western Electric, Montgomery, IL, later working for Safari Market, Yorkville, IL, and Little Rock Jewelers, Plano, IL.
For many years, Paula worked at the after school care program in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie, WI and volunteered at the Family Resource Center, Zion, IL.
Paula was an active member of Trinity Christian Church, Zion, IL, Harvest Chapel, Sandwich, IL, and First Lutheran Church, Plano, IL and was dedicated to her Bible studies.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, spending time with her family, friends, and her dogs at their camper in Millbrook, IL, traveling to Door Co., WI, and Michigan, New England, and Canada with her friends, as well as, Colorado and Florida with her family.
On July 11, 1970, she married Roger P. Jacobs in Aurora, IL.
Survivors include her husband, of 53 years, Roger; two children: Denise Jacobs of Madison, WI and Christopher Jacobs of Leland, IL; two grandchildren: Ava and Willa Jacobs; two sisters: Sheila Nicol of Ann Arbor, MI and Susan (Robert Rumbley) Sauve of Apollo Beach, FL; a nephew, Andy Alt of Ann Arbor, MI; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her loving mother-in-law, Agnes Jacobs.
A Celebration of Paula's life will be held 7:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2023 at Trinity Christian Church, 2600 Lewis Ave., Zion, IL 60099. Interment will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin, PO Box 235, Waunakee, WI 53597, or LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs, Lutheran Church Charities, 3020 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062 are appreciated in Paula's memory.
