Robert Joseph Nicolazzi
Dec. 19, 1938 - July 19, 2024
HILTON HEAD, SC - Robert Joseph Nicolazzi, born December 19, 1938, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024. He was the beloved son of John and Anna Nicolazzi, and cherished brother to Richard Nicolazzi.
Robert was a loving husband to Judith, devoted father to Steven, Deborah and Richard, and adored grandfather to seven grandchildren, two step-grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
Robert was born and raised in Kenosha, WI, where he excelled in football during high school, earning recognition as an All-State and All-American player. His talent on the field led him to Notre Dame, where from 1955 to 1960, he proudly played as offensive tackle, wearing number 76, a number that remained a part of his identity, even reflected in his license plate with "ND" for Notre Dame.
After graduating from Notre Dame with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Leadership, Robert furthered his education with a Master's degree from Michigan State University.
He embarked on a distinguished career with Ford Motor Company, Tractor Division, spanning 35 years. His work took him and his family across the globe, from Southfield, MI to Antwerp and Brussels Belgium, to various locations in the United States including Albany, NY, Richmond, VA, Memphis, TN, West Bloomfield, MI and finally settling in Chester Springs, PA.
Upon retiring at the age of 57, Robert and Judith fulfilled their dream, moving to Hilton Head, SC, where they enjoyed the serenity of their retirement home in Sea Pines. Robert was an avid golfer and cherished his membership at Sea Pines Country Club, where he spent many enjoyable hours on the course.
Throughout their 62 years of marriage, Robert and Judith shared a passion for travel, embarking on numerous exotic adventures around the world. Robert was also a proud member of the Italian American Club, where he fostered lifelong friendships.
Robert will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of his world.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude's Hospital and Tunnels To Towers Foundation in Robert's memory, charities he supported throughout the years.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Robert Joseph Nicolazzi.

Judi and family
It saddens me to learn of your loss. While a work associate for years, yet lost contact, Nic will be remembered. I lost my midge and love of 61 years only four months ago. I understand your loss and wish you the very best and healing thoughts.
