Shirley Bizek Obituary
1926 - 2015
Shirley G. Bizek, 89, of Bristol, Wis., passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
She was born April 12, 1926, in Cicero, Ill., the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Rickert) Gohr, settling in Bristol, Wis., in 1950. Shirley was a member of the Bristol United Methodist Church, the Bristol Falcon's 4-H Club, and had served many years on the Bristol School Board and PTA. As a younger girl, Shirley became involved with the Girl Scouts, and had continued to have meetings with her troop for 65 years. She enjoyed: her dogs, watching and feeding the birds, swimming, flower gardening, and collecting Robins. On Oct. 2, 1948, she married Charles Bizek at St. Andrew Church, Chicago, Ill., and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1990.
Survivors include two children, Daniel (Terri) Bizek and Richard (Cheryl) Bizek both of Bristol, WI; five grandchildren: Catherine and Andrew Bizek, Jodi (Allen) Stough, Sara (Jeff) Barnekow, and Lori (Preston) Merkel, eight great-grandchildren: Bradley, Timothy, Stephanie, Mitchell, Hunter, Haylee, Lilly, and Brooke; and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Gohr.
A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002 with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. Those desiring may make donations to Hospice Alliance in Shirley's memory. Please sign the online guest book for Shirley at www.strangfh.com.

I am sorry to hear of Shirley's leaving us for her heavenly home. I shall always remember the most wonderful times we had with all the Bizek's and the "Robins" at Lake George. I send all of you my condolences and prayers and Ask God to comfort you and grant you many blessings and graces. All these years I have kept a photo of Shirley and one of her pups on my desk. It shall be a continued remembrance of all the Bizeks. Know that I will continue to hold each of you in my prayers.
