Ann Wallace Horton Burns
September 30, 1920 - January 2, 2021
Lexington, Kentucky - Ann Wallace Horton Burns passed away on January 2, 2021 at the age of 100. Ann was born on September 30, 1920 to Robin A. and Mary (Hayden) Horton in Paris, KY. She graduated from Paris High School and then Transylvania College in 1942. At age 50, Ann went back to school and received her Master's degree from the University of Kentucky. Ann was a member of Central Christian Church. Whether it was through her teaching career, church activities, PEO chapter, Transy alumni connections, or travel experiences, Ann brought joy and delight to all that knew her. She was a magnificent spirit. Her grace and sweetness were a blessing, and she will be missed by all who knew her. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin F. Burns and two brothers Peyton A. and Robin A. Horton, Jr. She is survived by nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins. Her burial will be private. A memorial service will be planned for later in 2021. Memorial donations may be made in Ann's memory to Transylvania University.
